Mental illness can arise from numerous reasons — environmental, genetic, biological, etc. Most cannot be fully cured, per se. However, when you seek treatment early on, the chance of recovery is pretty higher.
Refrain from seeing yourself as weak. One common misconception of humans who suffers in silence from psychiatric disorders is the faith that they are weak. If I cannot handle my own head, I am weak. This is not true, and persisting in this faith can actually worsen your suffering over time.
Release your need to be in control. Stay busy. Avoid the symptoms. Behave like nothing is wrong. This endless wish to stay in control is developed out of fear that if you stop and really identify your suffering, you might lose your head. Ask yourself these questions to assist you to surrender control.
