Lionel Messi moves into Spain to connect with Barcelona at an early age as raised and Born in central Argentina, whereas he surfaces his competitive debut in Barcelona at the age of 17 in October 2004. Messi led Argentina to three consecutive finals: the 2016 and 2015 Copa América as the team captain in 2011, winning the Golden Ball in the 2015 edition, and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, for where he again won the Golden Ball. Messi dissolved his international retirement in 2016 commitment and led his nation to qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, won the 2021 Copa América and a third-place completed at the 2019 Copa América.
Since 2006, Messi has signed on sportswear company Adidas. According to reports, between 2009 and 2014, he was the world's highest-paid soccer player for five years and was also ranked the world's highest-paid player by some magazines in 2019. According to Time's 100 most influential people in the world, Messi was among the best player in 2012 and 2011. He was awarded the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year in 2020, thus becoming the first soccer player and the first team sport athlete to win the award.
