Finding Dory is a 2016 American computer-animated adventure film released by Walt Disney Pictures and produced by Pixar Animation Studios. Written by Stanton and Victoria Strouse and directed by Andrew Stanton, the movie is a sequel/spinoff to Finding Nemo (2003).
One year after meeting Nemo and Marlin, Dory is living with them on their sandbar. One day, Dory remembers her parents as she has a flashback. She has decided to look out for them, but her memory difficulty is an obstacle. When Nemo mentions the name, she instantly recalls that they lived at the "Jewel of Morro Bay, California" across the ocean.
While strolling aimlessly, Dory comes across a trail of shells; recollecting that when she was pretty young, her parents had set out the same trail to help her discover her way back home, she follows it. At the end of the string, Dory discovers an empty brain coral with multiple shell chains leading to it. As she turns to leave, her parents occur. They told her they spent years laying down the trails for dory to follow in the wish and hope that she would in time discover them.
Hank, Marlin, and Nemo end up in the truck taking different frequenting water creatures to Cleveland. Bailey and Destiny run away from their exhibit to assist Dory in saving them. Once onboard the truck, Dory convinces Hank to return back to the sea with her, and together, they take over the truck and drive it over busy highways, developing havoc, before crashing it into the sea, freeing all the fish planet. Dory, along with new friends and her parents, returns back to the reef with Nemo and Marlin.
The Tank Gang (from Finding Nemo), still confined inside their (now covered in algae) plastic bags, reached California one year after diving in across the Pacific Ocean, where they pick out by staff members from the Marine Life Institute.
The movie focuses on the amnesiac fish Dory, who journeys to be reunited with her parents.
